We have been notified by the national Edwards campaign that he will be in Atlanta as part of his "America Rising, Coast to Coast" tour this coming Saturday at the local IBEW meeting hall on Pulliam Street. The event is free and open to the public, so invite friends and acquaintances to come meet John. On this tour, he will also visit Nevada, California, Missouri, Oklahoma and South Carolina to share with voters his plans to stand up to powerful interests and make sure hard-working families can get ahead. The JRE campaign has a recent CNN poll that showed Edwards was the only Democrat to beat all four leading Republicans nationally and state by state polls show even more conclusively that he is the most electable Democrat in key battleground states - and even wins in states like Missouri and Oklahoma that have gone red in recent presidential elections. Most of the Republican-owned-and -operated news media has recently been focused on two more heavily funded of the three remaining Democratic candidates, primarily because John Edwards is the candidate they definitely don't want to have to run against. Please spread the word to friends and acquaintances to come see and hear this remarkable person here in Atlanta this Saturday!

Presidential Debate Watch Gathering - Georgia's primary is only a little over 3 months away! On February 5th we will vote for the candidate of our choice on what is called "Super Tuesday" - the day that we and a number of other states hold our primary and pretty much seal the Democratic nomination. Now that fall is here and the presidential primary is heating up, we will be getting together with other Atlanta Democrats in our familiar, casual setting to talk about things here in Georgia and watch together all our Democratic presidential candidates.

Special April Meetup - Time to spring alive and begin preparing for the election of our next Democratic President!! For our April gathering, we have shifted the date to accommodate the first debate of our Democratic Candidates, to be held at South Carolina State University. We are coming together at our usual place, Park Tavern, to watch the debate with other Atlanta Area Democrats. And for John Edwards supporters to cheer for him!
The Debate will be from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m., so we'll gather at 6:30 to sign-in, get name tags, and order food, drinks from the menu as usual. Then watch our stable of candidates debate as this historic election race begins.
The Debate will not be broadcast on regular network stations, so Park Tavern is hooking us up to MSNBC, so we Atl Dems don't miss out. This will be a fun night to talk about all things Democrat and root for our candidates! Mark your calendar now!

As a special Valentine to our group, we are doing an outing together with the Atlanta Area Democrats group. Come hear Jay Bookman, AJC editorial board and author, give his 5th annual REAL State of the Union address. Jay will be joined by Rev. Joseph E. Lowery for this great evening. There will be a reception from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. also. This is a don't miss event and we are glad to take part as JRE supporters in metro Atlanta.
